I really enjoyed our experience here. It was my first time. We came after a show to grab a quick bite on a late Tuesday night but the place was still full. I wondered if people ever work here The food was great. We had some appetizers and the spicy pasta. The ambiance was good too. The staff was exactly the crowd on queen west - hipster who always look high. lol but the service was good - they seemed to be good at their jobs. All in all, solid 5 out of 5.

An intimate but a lively dining experience at this beautiful bar. Drinks were top notch, delicious food, and a vibe to match none others. Will definitely be recommending to friends, and will be visiting again. Best of the night was the PENNE ALLA VODKA!

Bar Poet is one of those spots that combines a lively bar vibe with genuinely high-quality food – and it delivers on both fronts. We started with their pizzas, which were nothing short of excellent. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside with a chewy bite inside, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. The cocktails lived up to the hype as well – we tried their margaritas, and they were crafted with precision, not too sweet, not too strong, just the right refreshing balance. The real standout of the evening was the short rib fettuccine. This dish deserves a special mention – rich, tender, and packed with flavor, it was easily one of the best things on the menu and something I’d recommend to anyone visiting. The atmosphere is another plus. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, so whether you’re in the mood for cozy indoor energy or a more relaxed open-air setting, you’ll find a spot that suits you. Service was consistently attentive without being overbearing, and the staff seemed genuinely welcoming. Prices are not the cheapest in the city, but you truly get what you pay for here – quality ingredients, well-executed dishes, and an overall experience that feels worth it. If you’re looking for a place that combines creative cocktails, standout food, and a cool vibe, Bar Poet is a spot I’d return to in a heartbeat.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Sanitary: 4 Stars Overall: 4.25 Stars Note: Complimentary Invite We had a great lunch today at Bar Poet and overall, it was a pretty solid experience. The atmosphere is cool and definitely has a unique vibe — very much a tucked-away kind of spot that feels like a little escape from the downtown buzz. The staff were lovely — super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and everyone we interacted with had a great attitude, which made the visit that much more enjoyable. We were seated at a booth, which looked nice but ended up being a bit uncomfortable after a while. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to keep in mind if you’re planning to hang out for a bit. Also, there was no air conditioning inside, and with the extreme heat outside, it made the space feel a bit stuffy. On a cooler day, this probably wouldn’t be as noticeable, but it definitely took away from the comfort a bit. As for the food — it was decent, with a few highlights. The margarita pizza was the standout for us. It had a nice amount of sauce and great flavour overall, although it was slightly on the salty side. Still, we’d definitely order it again. The calamari was pretty good as well — crispy and nicely seasoned. The cheese sticks, on the other hand, could’ve used more cheese — they looked better than they tasted, unfortunately. All things considered, it wasn’t a bad encounter at all. While there were a few comfort-related issues, the friendly service and solid food made up for it. Next time, we’ll likely opt for takeout — especially on a hot day. Looking forward to trying more of the menu soon. xx kellychan360

We had such a great experience at Bar Poet! The atmosphere inside was absolutely beautiful—so unique and vibey. Our server was fantastic: super friendly, laid-back, and made the whole night even better. The food and drinks were phenomenal—every dish hit the spot. To top it all off, they surprised us with a birthday dessert and shots to celebrate my friend’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. Can’t wait to come back again!

What do I even say about this place? Just amazing. Such a hidden gem. The ambience, the food, the people and the vibe are just spectacular! I loved every bit of it. Omg, the Margarita pizza was out of this world with hot honey dip! I also had a cocktail converted into a cocktail named Sour Poet and it was good too!!!

Bar Poet continues to be one of my favourite spots for late‑night bites in the city - especially if you’re a pizza enthusiast. Their Hot Rod pizza is easily one of the best pepperoni pies in Toronto. The hot honey drizzle is fantastic as standard, but be sure to ask for the truffle oil on the side - not included by default but absolutely worth it. We also tried a couple of their pastas: the Mushroom Pappardelle (creamy and earthy) and the NYC Spicy Rigatoni (spicy vodka‑cream sauce), and both were decent additions to the meal, though the Hot Rod stole the spotlight. Service is consistently mediocre - never terrible, but you often need to flag someone down to place an order, ask about drinks, or get attention. On this visit, the hostess hesitated to seat us at a booth for four, despite several being available. Thankfully, one waiter stepped in and made the executive decision to seat us there, sparing us from the uncomfortable high‑top chairs. Despite the service quirks, Bar Poet nails the vibe and food quality, especially for late‑night dining. And again, I can’t overstate how good that Hot Rod pizza is - if you love classic pepperoni, do not skip it.
